John Dawson is the only candidate Melissa Bean does not want to win the primary. John has run a clean campaign, is the best qualified for the job and he will fix the economy and jobs.

As e-mails are flying among the other candidates regarding law suits, past arrests, flip flopping on issues, stretching the truth on their campaigning, etc., John Dawson has focused on listening to the people of the 8th and discussing solutions for the economy and jobs. The 8th District cannot afford to send the wrong candidate to take on Bean & the economy.

We have the perfect candidate and we MUST make sure he is elected on Tuesday. Citizen's of the 8th District deserve the best.

VOTE FOR DAWSON, THE CLEAN CAMPAIGNER


I guess it was too much to hope for to think that the 8th Congressional District Republican race could make it to election day on Feb. 2 without any mudslinging. Last week, Chris Geissler called out Joe Walsh for not paying his campaign debts and for living outside of the 8th district in Winnetka and he goes on to note that Maria Rodriguez also lives outside the 8th District. Rodriguez, in turn, has not been honest on her robo calls and in the candidate forums where she continually states that she is the "only one in the race with elected experience" even after being told repeatedly that John Dawson was elected to the school board in District 155.

Meanwhile, Joe Walsh has been attacking Rodrigez over her flip-flopping on the issue of extending Illinois Route 53 northbound (which she has opposed).

Dirk Beverage had been touting the fact that he was "the founder" of the 501C3 organization "We Do Care" until Joe Walsh pointed out that there were actually 5 founders and three of the five are actually supporting Walsh over Beveridge for Congress. Interesting.

Why is it so difficult to run a clean above-board campaign without any mud slinging? Doesn't anyone in the 8th District want to concentrate on the real issues - jobs and the economy?

John Dawson is my choice for Congress. He understands the issues and he's stayed squeaky clean throughout the campaign. That's who I want running against Melissa Bean in November and that's who I want representing me in Washington.

The six Republican candidates for 8th Congressional District have a lot of similarities. Fix economy, create jobs, shrink government, balance budget, defend country, support education, etc. All extremely important goals.
What distinguishes John Dawson from the pack of six? Daily Herald 1/12/10:
“It is not the federal government’s place to tell a woman what she can do with her body in the first trimester,” Dawson explained. “The choice is between the woman, her religious beliefs and trusted advisers.”
That’s a bold statement for a Republican candidate to say. It’s the statement voters in the 8th District have wanted to hear from a Republican candidate since a Democrat took the office. It's the statement that will win back the office for Republicans.

John Dawson continues to gain support in his race to win the Republican Primary election for Congressman in the Illinois 8th Congressional District.

Ken Koehler, the popular McHenry County Board Chairman, today added his name to the list of those endorsing John to win the Primary and then to the General Election to unseat Democrat incumbent Melissa Bean. Ken has served for nine years on the McHenry County Board, the last five years as Chairman. He is seeking reelection this year.

"John fully understands the major issues of the day on jobs and the economy, and the two great concerns of transportation and groundwater issues facing McHenry County. He will make a worthy ally to 16th District Congressman Don Manzullo in addressing not only the challenges facing the nation but their adjoining congressional districts as well."
